This print depicts Stearman Trainers on the flight line at Rankin Aeronautical Academy in this 1942 photograph. Founded in 1941 by John Gilbert "Tex" Rankin, he used the field to teach cadets to fly during WWII. This field trained more than 10,000 pilots trained for the war effort during its four years of operation.
