Earth & Sky Two artists with very different crafts are displaying their work from July 21 - Sept. 10, 2011 at the Tulare Historical Museum. The exhibit "Earth & Sky" will feature pottery by Piet Eppinga and bird photography by Gary Lindquist. The opening reception is 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21st in the museum's Heritage Room. The reception is free of charge and refreshments will be served. Donations are always accepted. Eppinga, a Tulare resident, has been a potter since January 2008. He learned the craft through art classes at College of the Sequoias. "My pottery is earthy and organic," he said. "It's art pottery." Lindquist, a Visalia veterinarian, has been interested in birds since the seventh grade but took up photography seriously within the last decade. His photographs in the exhibit will depict birds found in Tulare County. |
